1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the REMIC AI Coach, including the landing page, email signup flow, student dashboard, AI tutor, downloadable study guide, and related communications.
By submitting your email address, clicking a magic link, accessing the student dashboard, downloading the study guide, or using the AI tutor, you agree to these Terms and to any additional notices shown in the service. If you do not agree, do not use the REMIC AI Coach.
2. What the REMIC AI Coach is
The REMIC AI Coach is a pilot web application designed to help Canadian life insurance licensing candidates study the LLQP Segregated Funds module. It provides an AI-powered study tutor, an intro video, and access to a Seg Funds study guide PDF.
The service is offered as a free pilot so REMIC can evaluate usage, collect feedback, improve the tutor experience, and assess whether to expand the product into future LLQP modules or other REMIC education products.
The REMIC AI Coach is not part of Moodle in version 1 and is intended to operate as a standalone web application at coach.remic.ca or another REMIC-approved URL.
3. Email access and magic links
Access is provided through email-based magic-link authentication. You are responsible for using an email address you control and for keeping your email account secure.
Do not share your magic links or session access with another person. REMIC may limit, suspend, or revoke access if the service is misused, if automated activity is detected, or if access is shared in a way that affects the pilot or violates these Terms.
4. Educational use only
The REMIC AI Coach is a study aid. It is provided for general educational purposes related to the LLQP Segregated Funds module and is not a substitute for the official course material, regulatory guidance, instructor support, or your own study and judgment.
The tutor does not provide individualized financial, insurance, legal, tax, investment, compliance, or professional advice. Do not use tutor responses to make personal financial decisions or client recommendations.
The tutor may help explain concepts, walk through examples, generate practice questions, and help you study. It must not be used to obtain or request answers to known LLQP exam questions. If you ask for exam answers or attempt to bypass exam integrity rules, access may be restricted.
5. AI tutor limitations
The AI tutor is designed to be grounded in REMIC Seg Funds content, but AI-generated responses can still be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, unclear, or inappropriate for your situation. You are responsible for checking important information against the official REMIC materials and any applicable licensing or regulatory sources.
The tutor should avoid speculating beyond the Seg Funds module, should not invent Canadian regulatory figures, and should decline individualized advice requests. If a response appears wrong, risky, or confusing, stop relying on it and report the issue to REMIC.
6. Your responsibilities
You agree to use the REMIC AI Coach responsibly and only for lawful educational purposes. You must not:
- enter Social Insurance Numbers, financial account numbers, client names, client files, or other sensitive personal information;
- submit confidential third-party information or information you do not have permission to share;
- ask the tutor to provide exam answers, bypass exam rules, impersonate another person, or assist with misconduct;
- attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, probe, or interfere with the service or its security controls;
- copy, redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit the study guide, tutor responses, or REMIC content without permission;
- use the service to generate harmful, unlawful, abusive, misleading, or discriminatory content.
7. Data collection, conversation storage, and consent
To operate the pilot, REMIC may collect your email address, signup and session information, consent records, optional profile information, study guide download activity, and conversation history, including messages you send and AI responses you receive.
Conversation history is saved so you can return to prior conversations, so REMIC can review tutor quality, and so REMIC can improve the product. REMIC administrators may review user conversations for quality assurance, safety, support, product improvement, analytics, and prompt tuning. This review should be disclosed in the Privacy Policy and in the signup consent language.
Where required, REMIC will ask for your explicit consent to collect conversation data, send marketing emails, and use anonymized or aggregated conversation data to improve the tutor. Consent timestamps and related records may be stored for compliance purposes.
8. REMIC marketing emails
The signup form includes a consent checkbox for REMIC emails about LLQP study support and related products. If you consent, REMIC may send study tips, sample questions, product updates, and information about REMIC LLQP courses or related education offerings.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in those emails. Service-related emails, such as magic links or important account notices, may still be sent where necessary to operate the service.
9. Study guide and downloadable materials
The Seg Funds study guide and any related REMIC learning materials are provided for your personal study use only. Access may require a valid magic-link session. Direct hotlinks or attempts to bypass session-gated downloads are not permitted.
You may not sell, publish, upload, distribute, or create derivative products from the study guide or other REMIC materials without REMIC’s written permission.
10. Third-party services
The REMIC AI Coach may rely on third-party services for hosting, authentication, email delivery, analytics, video embedding, AI model access, databases, vector search, logging, or monitoring. Your use of the service may involve processing by those providers as needed to operate the product.
REMIC will make reasonable efforts to select providers and configurations suitable for the pilot and aligned with REMIC’s privacy, security, operational, and compliance needs.
11. Pilot availability and changes
The REMIC AI Coach is being offered as a pilot. REMIC may change, limit, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service, including free access, daily usage limits, available modules, chatbot functionality, study guide access, or beta features.
REMIC may also introduce paid tiers, bundle access with REMIC courses, expand to additional LLQP modules, or change the product after the pilot.
12. Intellectual property
REMIC owns or licenses the REMIC AI Coach, REMIC branding, user interface, study guide, course content, prompts, manual-derived content, and related materials. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.
Subject to these Terms, REMIC gives you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for personal study purposes during the period when REMIC makes the service available to you.
13. Privacy Policy
Your use of the REMIC AI Coach is also governed by the REMIC AI Coach Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy should explain what data is collected, how it is used, where it is hosted, how long it is retained, how conversation review works, how marketing consent works, and how users can request deletion.
14. Suspension, termination, and deletion requests
REMIC may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, create security risks, attempt to bypass access controls, or use the service in a way that could harm REMIC, other users, or the integrity of the pilot.
You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting REMIC. REMIC may retain limited records where required for legal, security, compliance, backup, or legitimate business purposes.
15. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The REMIC AI Coach is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis during the pilot. REMIC does not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that AI responses will always be accurate or complete.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, REMIC disclaims warranties and limits liability for losses arising from or related to your use of the service. Final limitation-of-liability language should be reviewed and approved by REMIC counsel before launch.
16. Changes to these Terms
REMIC may update these Terms as the pilot evolves. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date or version number. Continued use of the REMIC AI Coach after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
